A 33-year-old pregnant woman from the state of Ohio works as an apiarist. She took pictures of herself covered with more than 20 thousand bees while she was pregnant. Subsequently, her baby was found dead six days before the due date.

Emily Mueller who had miscarriages twice before disagrees that taking photos of bees covering her belly is the reason for the death for her baby. She believes it is probably because of thrombosis. She wishes to find out the reason, and has sent her placenta for further examination already.

Mueller said her father gave her a honeycomb in her childhood and she has always thought that bees have a special meaning in her life. She and her husband are also apiarists owning 24 beehives and 1.2 million bees.

This August, Mueller took a photo with 20,000 bees covering her whole belly whilst pregnant. She understands the concern of netizens, but she revealed that she had only been slightly stung by the bees for three times and none of them was on the belly.

She felt her baby stopped moving six days before the due date. The contraction of the uterus was also different from before. She comforted herself that the baby was just sleeping. Unfortunately, the baby was confirmed dead after going through the examinations in the hospital.

Mueller disagrees taking photos is the cause of her baby’s death. She points out that some of her family members have miscarriages before due to thrombosis. The placenta is now under examination for the cause of death.
