Rare pterosaurs’ fossils have been discovered in Hami Prefecture in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

An international research team led by Chinese paleontologists said on November 30, 2017, that they’ve discovered a specimen with more than 200 pterosaurs’ eggs and bones during the past decade in the area.

It also contained remains of three-dimensional embryo of the flying reptile, the first of its kind in history.

Pterosaurs is close cousins of dinosaurs, and went extinct some 66 million years ago.
