How much time do you think it's reasonable for taking a plane from London to New York? 10 hours? 8 hours?
You may enjoy a time-saving travel experience with a brand new developed supersonic plane, Boom Supersonic, which required only 3 hours 15 minutes from London to New York.
The plane is invested by Japan Airlines (JPA) and it spent US$10 million (£7.45 million) to develop the 55 seat passenger plane which can halve the flight time and make the price more affordable than Concorde, another company bothered with high operating costs and fuel consumption and low capacity utilization.
Boom Supersonic can fly faster and quieter than Concorde does. The aircraft is expected enter service by the mid-2020s.
The founder and CEO of Boom Supersonic, Blake Scholl, said they had been working with JPA for over a year. He compliments JAL’s passionate, visionary team offered decades of practical knowledge and wisdom on everything from the passenger experience to technical operations.
He addded they would be working with JAL to develop a reliable, easily-maintained aircraft that will provide revolutionary speed to passengers.
Yoshiharu Ueki, president of Japan Airlines, said, "Through this partnership, we hope to contribute to the future of supersonic travel with the intent of providing more "time" to our valued passengers while emphasising flight safety."
