The Icelandic Phallological Museum is probably the only museum in the world to display phallic specimens belonging to various types of mammal. The most astonishing one comes from a sperm whale which has a length of a normal adult's height.
The Icelandic Phallological Museum contains a collection of more than two hundred penises and penile parts belonging to almost all the land and sea mammals that can be found in Iceland.
The museum's founder used to be a headmaster in a secondary school. Some of the teachers worked in summer in a nearby whaling station and after the first specimen, they started bringing him whale penises, supposedly to tease him.
But the experience inspired the founder that it might be interesting collecting specimens from more mammalian species. Then he began to gradually collect more collections, ranging from whales to other species.
The only human collection of the museum belongs to a deceased 96-year-old Iceland man and there are still four men waiting to donate their penises for display.
