A mother, named Cho, has been arrested on suspicion of killing and dismembering her 12-year-old daughter in a Mong Kok flat, in Hong Kong, on Sunday night.
Police received a call from the woman's neightbour saying the suspected mother locked herself in the flat after refusing to return a borrowed mobile phone.
When the police arrived, the woman was unwilling to cooperate with the officers so they broke down the door to enter the 60 sq ft subdivided flat.
The police found a dismembered body, including a head, organs, limbs and other parts, in the bathroom after breaking into the flats. Cho seemed mentally disordered at the time they arrived.
The suspected woman is with dyed blonde hair, tattoos on her abdomen, and trendy outfits. She is a long-term resident of the city and the girl was believed a Hong Kong identity card holder who was studying in a local school.
Mong Kok assistant district commander Chung Chi-ming said, "...The bathroom had flooded which was affecting neighbouring flats."
Police said the woman had no records of any mental history or domestic violence and they will attempt to find the girl's father.
A neighbour surnamed Tsui said she heard chopping noises lasted about half an hour coming at around 3 pm on Sunday.
