How long the MINIskirt should be?
A New Zealand woman was not satisfied with stewardess uniforms at Air Asia Malaysia and felt offended by their "short miniskirt."
Complainant June Robertson said she likes Malaysia very much and has been to Malaysia twice a year in the past 10 years. However, she was very dissatisfied with the miniskirt uniform of Air Asia stewardesses, feeling offended when a flight attendant bend over and exposed her underwear.
Robertson emphasized that airlines in New Zealand, Europe or the United States are not like that. And once she saw a stewardess's shirt opened and half of the chest was exposed when she bend in a flight to Kuala Lumpu in 2017, she asked the young stewardess to immediately buckle up the shirt.
She thinks one of the reasons that people like Malaysia is that "women do not dress like prostitutes", pointing out that the miniskirt of Air Asia will undermine Malaysia's reputation. She thinks Air Asia makes Malaysia leave the wrong impression to visitors.
After receiving complaints, some members of the Legislative Council have suggested that the government need to stipulate that female air attendants should respect the traditional oriental values. "The tourists will have a negative impression of Malaysia if the flight attendants are way too sexy or disgraceful."
