Famous singer Katy Perry robbed the first kiss of 19-year-old American Idol contestant, which has become an internet sensation in the last few days.
Benjamin Glaze, a young and conservative man who claimed he couldn't kiss a girl without being in a relationship and he never kisses a girl before in the show.
Out of everyone's expectation, 33-year-old Katy invited Benjamin to approach the judges table. The young contestant asked: 'on the cheek' as he walked over with hesitations.
He kissed the singer on the cheek but he was blamed for not making a sound. He came near Katy again but she suddenly turned her head and kissed him on the lips. The young man was obviously shocked as the singer posed in the victory.
The clip has drawn a strong backlash online. Many netizens criticized Katy for kissing Benjamin without asking permission. A netizen even commented: 'She sexually assaulted him, he belongs in the #metoo campaign.'
As for the young man who didn't make it through the competition but caught lots of eyeballs, he revealed he' was a tad bit uncomfortable' when he was interviewed by media.
He explained he wanted to make the first kiss special and save for his first relationship. But he later cleared on social media, saying: 'I do not think I was sexually harassed by Katy Perry (and) I was uncomfortable in a sense of how I have never been kissed before and was not expecting it.'
