Is this a "monster"?

The body of a "deep-sea monster" has been spotted on the beach of Australia, with its huge size and frightening appearance attracting a large number of Internet users.

A couple, John Lindholm and Riley, unexpectedly found the giant nearly 2 meters long fish body when visiting the villas on Moore Park Beach, Bundaberg. Lindholm, who was a captain, said he had never seen anything like this.

He said the fish might have been stranded and dead with the body intact, and when he returned to the beach the next day, the body was gone.

They uploaded the photos to the social network and asked netizens to determine what kind of fish it was. Some people think it's a cod while some others think it's a tripletail. A spokesman of the Kunzhou ship and fishery patrol said that the fish was estimated to be the Queensland groper, which weighed 152 kg, but was temporarily stranded and killed.

It is understood that the Queensland groper is a giant fish in coral reefs, which is listed as a protected species and is prohibited from human capture.
