Celebrity vet Dr. K, short for Dr. Susan Kelleher, from National Geographic Wild TV show, found a snake with two heads which is of Boa constrictor in Florida.
The 2-year-old creature which has two separated heads one body was just found in southern Florida by Dr.K. It's just a few centimeters long so far.
Another vet Dr. T, Lauren Thielen, x-rayed the two-headed snake and discovered the animal tends to share internal but their hearts.
What surprise them most is that the snake has two hearts, which it's like they two creatures living in one body.
"I was shocked it has two hearts," says Thielen. "But it was really cool to understand that the Siamese twin snake was really two snakes in one outer skin."
The vets use a machine called a doppler ultrasound to listen to the snake's heartbeats and confirm it has two hearts in her body.
Even though the two-headed snake is one of the more unique cases, two-headed snakes are not new things. Another special thing is that the reptile may also have to two digestive tracts while Thielen discovered this after passing tubes down the esophagus in each head.
According to National Geographic, "Boa constrictors enter the world through live births, not external eggs. The two heads likely arose after the embryo began to split and make twins, but then suddenly stopped, leaving a conjoined pair."
