"How anyone could kick a defenceless man in the head as he lay unconscious is almost unbelievable..." said Detective Sergeant John Coleman.

A shocking footage shows brutal teenagers beat and kick a 49-year-old tram passenger. The youngsters can be seen stamping on the man's head even he is laying on the plaform unconciously.

The 49-year-old man was leaving the carriage when the the young people attacked him in Chadderton, Greater Manchester. They were tralleveling on the same tram before the incident.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said the attackers were described as Asian teenage boys. It's believed that they are aged 15 and 18, who repeatedlly kicked and stamped on the victims's head.

The driver of a tram travelling in the opposite side saw the assult, so he stopped to intervene. The passengers in the tram supported the drivers to do so. 

The police praised them, "It was only as a result of these actions that the attackers stopped their assault and ran from the scene."

Greater Manchester Police posted the video online which happened on 8 March, hoping of finding out the villains.

Detective Sergeant John Coleman, from GMP's Oldham borough, said, "Not only did these men target an innocent man for no apparent reason, they subjected him to a sustained and brutal attack and the footage is absolutely shocking."

"How anyone could kick a defenceless man in the head as he lay unconscious is almost unbelievable but for them to return on three separate occasions to continue their assault and then leave him bleeding on the platform is beyond comprehension."

He thought it's pretty incredible the victim can survive and is now recoverng.
