Nine-foot alligator captured dragging animal carcass across a road in South Carolina 

A video capturing a nine-foot-long alligator dragging a carcass across a roadway in South Carolina has gone viral on the internet. 

Daniel Martin and his son witnessed the scene when they were driving on a camping trip along the highway last weekend.

They were forced to stop and watch the gator to moved its prey using its mouth. 

"Wow, that's a big alligator," one can be heard saying in the video. "And there's a fish or something in the middle of the road. He's coming to eat it."

It's not clear what exactly the prey the gator was dragging is while the nighttime didn't allow a clear view. 

It is reported that alligators usually appear in May and June throughout the southeast United States
