San Francisco mayor admires China's high-speed train system

Impressed by the rapid and efficient operation of China's high-speed train system, San Francisco Mayor London Breed on Friday expressed her desire for California to have comparable trains.

Breed made the remarks after taking a high-speed train to travel from Beijing to Shanghai on Friday. The American delegation arrived in Shanghai at around 20:30.

Despite her previous experiences with China's high-speed train, Mayor Breed was once again captivated by its remarkable performance.

"This is the second time I rode the high-speed rail to Shanghai. It feels like it floats and it's exciting. I heard it was faster, but last time I thought it was really fast too. I was asleep, very quiet," said Breed.

"Transportation infrastructure is a key part of ensuring that people are able to move around safely and efficiently in our state and in our city. We want high-speed rail from San Francisco bay area to Los Angeles, we want this in our state of California," she said.

Russia said on Thursday that it had taken control of a village in the Donetsk region and has secured advantageous positions in multiple directions, while Ukraine said that it attacked Russian air defense system in the past 24 hours.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian army struck multiple Ukrainian military targets including Ukrainian military electronic warfare stations and ammunition depots.

Additionally, Russian air defense forces intercepted multiple Ukrainian drones, rockets, and aerial bombs.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on the same day that the Ukrainian army engaged in over a hundred battles with Russian forces on the front line, targeting Russian air defense missile systems, ammunition depots, and other targets.
