Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Hungary underscores the robust relationship between Hungary and China, and will further bolster cooperation between enterprises of the two nations, said a Hungarian entrepreneur.
Hungary is the last stop of Xi's six-day European tour starting from last Sunday, earlier the Chinese president paid state visits to France and Serbia.
In an interview with China Global Television Network (CGTN) in Budapest on Wednesday, Tamas Benkocs, vice president of Muszertechnika-Holding Zrt, a Hungarian auto maker, expressed his expectations towards President Xi's visit.
"I think President Xi's visit is of the highest importance, because it shows the relationship, the strong relationship between our two countries. It helps reducing any business doubts and encourages entrepreneurs and enterprises to enter possible cooperation more and more. For those who already have cooperation, it (cooperation) will strengthen and probably will invite more and more companies to start working together," said Benkocs.
During the interview, he noted that policymakers should encourage this cooperation, recognizing its potential for mutual benefit and innovation. He also shared the synergies his company has developed with Chinese partners, emphasizing the mutual learning experience.
"I think policy makers should encourage this relationship, because what I see is they should not be focusing on Chinese companies and products coming to Europe. Our relationships with my (Chinese) partners are not focused on Europe. We are focused on all over the world. I think business opportunities are all over the world. What we have and how we work with our Chinese partners are that our people are working together, our engineers are working together. And it's a two-way road. They learn something from us. We learn something from them," he said.
"There was a shipment which was delayed due to political reasons, and we had to find a solution locally. We have 24/7 connection with our Chinese partners, engineers, so we could source it here (in Hungary), we could build it here, and we could solve it here. Therefore, I think the initiative and the cooperation between the two countries is an extremely important thing," he noted.
