A snake handler and exotic animals lover died at home as a result of asphyxia with his pet python loose nearby. If he were really killed by the python, it is the first case in the UK.
Dan Brandon, 31, was discovered dead at his home in Hampshire, with one of his snakes nearby, out of its pen. The post-mortem revealed he was strangled to death.
However, detectives have not ruled that Brandon was killed by his pet and they are still investigating the case.
A fundraising page has been set up in Brandon’s memory and a friend of Brandon said: “He was obsessed with snakes, spiders, birds and all wildlife, in his memory we have set up two fundraising pages, one for WWF and one for RSPB.”
