Rankin has a height of just 2ft 7in (about 0.8 meters), shorter than an average two-year-old. However, besides the inconvenience of being small, the young girl has to suffer constant agony due to the disease.

'The pain is there from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to bed.' She revealed. And her dog Poppy would realize her situation and become protective of her.

Rankin began to endure the torture of disease not long after she was born. She was diagnosed with a life-threatening bowel condition and was fed through a tube for the first ten years of her life.

Doctors told her parents she may not make it but she defied the odds to survive.

Being small made her suffer more than these. Rankin says she was isolated at school and excluded from parties. But now she learned to embrace her difference from others.
