Girl wants to remove giant mole on face but turns head to 'calabash'

Xiao Yan, a 23-year-old girl from Yin Jiang city, Gui Zhou province in China, is born with a giant mole on her face. After graduation from college, she worked for a pharmaceutical corporation and her life went well at first. However, the mole on her face suddenly brought her extreme pain last New Year, so she went to the hospital in Shanghai for help.

Doctors pointed out that Xiao Yan's giant nevus might becomes cancer so she needs to undergo skin transplantation as soon as possible. But the expenditure will cost her 300,000 yuan. Her neighbors donated 80,000 yuan to her and her family gave her 20,000 yuan.

Last October, doctors implanted 4 dilators under Xiao's facial skin and injected saline to expand her skin. Then they would remove the giant mole with her new skin. It took eight months to cultivate enough new skin, after which transplant surgery would be operated.

Xiao said that she suffered from extreme pain initially but the pain gradually eased. The problem was that her face was bulged with 4 pieces which made her head look like a calabash.

Xiao's mother gave birth to twins of mixed-sex and such incident is rather rare in their village. The whole village went to their home to congratulate the couple, but cursed Xiao was a monster as they saw that half of her face was covered by a black mole. Some people even asked Xiao's mother to abandon Xiao. Things only became better since Xiao's mother Yang begged for their mercy.

Xiao said that although she had a giant mole on face, she went along well with her partners during childhood. As time went by, she gradually felt that it was unfair since only her face was covered by an ugly giant mole while others' faces were so clean and beautiful. She became an introverted girl and was unwilling to go out. It is under the inspiration from her family and teachers that she opens herself again. Now Xiao still needs to take up 5 to 6 operations and has raised 50,000 yuan on the internet with the help of her brother.
