A chilling attack against a 15-year-old teenager happened outside Zesarina Grocer in the Belmont section of The Bronx at around 11:40pm last Wednesday.
A CCTV footage has captured the assault of the boy, Lesandro Guzman-Feliz, brutally being dragged out of a convenience store and slashed in the neck by a man using a machete.
Police in The Bronx are searching for a group of men who pulled Guzman-Feliz's hood out of the bodega, stabbed and slashed him with a machete before he was fleeing on foot.
The injured young boy can be seen standing at the street corner with massive blood pouring from his wound in the neck.
He tried to head towards the nearby St Barnabas Hospital, but collapsed in the way.
A woman who passed the street tried to save him by applying pressure to his neck before police officers and paramedics arrived. However, it didn't help Guzman-Feliz survive.
Investigators said he had told his mother he was going to the bodega to either repay a debt, or lend $5 to a friend. The youngster's sister, Genesis Collado-Feliz, 17, revealed her brother loved playing video games and would come to her for advice about girls.
She said Lesandro had recently become friends with a group of older boys while she insisted he was not in a gang.
The victim was a student at the Dr Richard Izquierdo Health and Science Charter School.
It's unclear what is the intention behind the killing but police are searching for at least six suspects in connection to the fierce killing.
One of the suspects, Kevin J. Alvarez, 19, of the Bronx, was arrested Sunday night. He was accused of second-degree murder, manslaughter, gang assault, and assault, according to police.
