A smart farm or so-called 'plant factory' covering 10,000 square meters has opened in Fuzhou, located in southeastern China's Fujian Province on Friday.
The smart farm contains sensors that control light, air quality, temperature, humidity and nutrient conditions, all of which "allows the plant to grow without being affected by the surroundings including the soil and sunlight," said the head of the smart farm Zhang Yang.
"The 'plant factory' can work for years continuously and the vegetables can be planted in different levels. So it has a production volume a dozen times of that of land farm," Zhang added.
China's green revolution is in full swing.
