A group of tourists was scared by a 10-foot-long shark appearing in a crowded beach in Majorcan at Cala Domingos, Spain when it swam near the shoreline on 2 Aug.
The shark was allegedly a tintorera or blue shark swimming just a few feet away from pedalos where children are playing. Police closed the beach the next day in the afternoon.
A footage shows the animal swimming in the clear shallow water off the beach before getting closer to the tourists in the water.
English and French speakers could be heard shouting loud. Children were screaming as the fish moved forward to where they were standing.
A local lifeguard organisation tweeted, "Police together with lifeguards and staff from Palma Aquarium have removed the animal. We fear for its life.
"Cala Domingos beach was evacuated at 3pm."
Local reports said the shark had a serious head injury, caused by a harpoon, believed it's the reason to lead it to become disorientated and to approach packed holiday beaches.
The sea animal was found dead later, although it's once reported, from emergency services, it had survived and was sent back to sea.
