A heated discussion has been raised online after a policeman from Lancashire, slapped a 14-year-old girl in the face during an arrest.
The 14-year-old girl and a 52-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of assaulting police in Accrington, Lancashire on Monday afternoon since two officers were hospitalised after the incident.
Lancashire Police said they are aware of the video and will have a full investigation into the case.
According to the video, two police officers try to restrain the teenager with some people screaming beside "get off her". The male police officer can be seen hitting the girl in the face in the fight.
A clear sound can be heard, "this man's smacking up a little girl... she was smacked... you are losing your job" after the police hit the girl.
Opinions were diverse among netizens. Some said the police has lost his while some said it is a reasonable use of force and thought the girl should not resist arrest.
"This is one of the reasons why, I have no respect for the police," one said.
"She's trying to scratch at his face and tried to bite the woman. That's why they are holding her head....But the cops these days are damned if they do and damned if they don't' one wrote," said another.
It's reported that the girl was arguing with someone in the street on Sunday when she was approached by police. A Formal police investigation was launched into Lancashire police.
