The mother said the only reason must be the video game.
Xu Tianci, a freshman from a high school in Jiangsu Province, China, died on the eve of the school year after playing the popular video game PUBG.
According to local reports, Tianci's uncle received a phone call from the property management office at about 6 am, so he went back to the building to see what had happened and he saw his nephew lying on the ground next to the building.

The boy's family said he just had a trip to South Africa and came back. There was nothing unusual the night before the incident. Tianci's uncle even took Tianci’s brother and sister to eat, watch a movie, and had a good time. The teenager slept as usual on that night and they did not expect he would jump off the next day.
Tianci's mother said her son was outgoing, kind, and was liked by many people. She thought his son's death was caused by the game he played a day before the incident happened. She hopes no other youngsters will be addicted to the internet, costing their lives.
She also claimed she would sue the company until they go bankrupt. Xu Tianci’s parents are doing business in South Africa and the family conditions are good.

Tianci's mother continued, "PUBG is a game asking players to jump off from the height, but the characters appear to harm only little and survive."
She thought there is no reason for her son to suicide unless he was drenched in the game and learnt from those characters, seeing if he could also survive after jumping off.
"The video game caused my son's death. There is no other reason," the mother said determinedly.

Police ruled out the possibility of homicide but did not rule out the child was addicted to the game, making an irrational decision. The investigation of police showed the teenager kept playing the game until he fell.
