It's the 21st century; you can't just go around chopping people's heads off!
This shocking footage was captured by a startled police officer when an Indian man, identified as Satish SG, arrived at the Police Station in Ajjampura, Chikmagalur, southern India and brazenly pulling her late wife's head out of a bag, holding it up by her hair.
The 35-year-old man was heard saying, "This is my wife, sir. I gave her all the love I could." To which a stunned cop replied, "Put it back inside!"
SG continued explaining how he saw his wife 'cheat' on him and that he had 'lost his temper' seeing his wife with another man, and strangled her to death before decapitating her with a machete.
The police had to calm the man down before they could formally take his statement and launch a formal investigation. Inspector Ramachandra Nayak said that Satish had shown the police where he left the rest of his wife's body and he is now in police custody.
"Generally, in the Ajjampura area, whoever commits murder surrenders to the police but for someone to walk in and place a head on the sub-inspector's table was something new for us," said Superintendent Annamalai.
His wife, Roopa, 25, was recorded to have come to the police for assistance earlier before her death. A senior police official said, "We were aware that the couple were going through some family issues. We even counselled them a few times but we didn't know that he suspected her of having an extra-marital affair."
A spokesman for the National Commission for Women, Rekha Sharma, said, "Instances where a husband kills his wife are rare but when they do happen, the reason often is doubt, property matters or an extra-marital relationship."
