Cao Shengge shows his homemade sculptures made out of used tyres in Xingtai City, Hebei province. Cao became interested in making sculptures with tyres in 2015. He has recycled nearly 50 tons of otherwise waste tyres to create about 100 works, including mythical figures, beasts, and the twelve zodiac animals. He said the tyres usually needed to be cut into pieces and then put together to form a creation, a process that may take tens of days. Cao also said he hopes to organize an exhibition of his works and promote public awareness of environmental protection.
