England captain Eoin Morgan will undergo a precautionary X-ray after injuring a finger on his left hand, less than a week before the start of the Cricket World Cup.

The England and Wales Cricket Board says Morgan was hurt during catching drills in a practice session on Friday ahead of a warmup game against Australia in Southampton on Saturday.

The World Cup starts on Thursday, when host nation England plays South Africa at The Oval.
