Rui Hachimura scored 19 of his 25 points in the second half to help the Washington Wizards beat the Atlanta Hawks 76-74 on Thursday in the NBA Summer League.

Selected ninth overall last month, the former Gonzaga star was 9 of 12 from the field with two 3-pointers, nine rebounds and two blocks. He scored 10 points in the third quarter as Washington took a 52-51 lead.

Garrison Mathews added 11 points for Washington (2-2), and Isaac Bonga had 10.

Gary Trent Jr. had 22 points and eight rebounds for Portland (1-3). He shot 8 of 24, going 2 of 14 from 3-point range. Portland center Hassan Whiteside, who was traded from the Miami Heat earlier this month, was in attendance.
