Alex Rins snatched victory in the MotoGP British Grand Prix at the final corner on a dramatic afternoon at Silverstone on Sunday.

The Spanish Suzuki rider undercut Honda's Marc Marquez as the pair rounded Woodcote for the last time to win by 0.013 seconds after a race-long tussle between the pair.

However, Rins had earlier benefited from a nasty collision which resulted in Andrea Dovizioso being taken to hospital after losing consciousness.

Dovizioso's Ducati was catapulted into the air when he hit Fabio Quartararo's Petronas SRT Yamaha coming out of Copse, in the process allowing Rins to move up from fifth to third.

Neither man was seriously injured, but the Italian was sent for checks after medical staff detected memory loss.

Rins then passed Valentino Rossi to engage with Marquez, but left it to the last moment to make his decisive move and clinch his second MotoGP victory.

Maverick Vinales claimed third place 0.6 seconds behind the front two with Rossi a distant fourth.
