The first T20 between India and South Africa was abandoned due to rain at HPCA Stadium on Sunday.

Weather threatened to play havoc with the start of South Africa's tour of India since the tourists arrived at the scenic hill station venue last week and the anticipated rain duly arrived on Sunday afternoon.

The teams will now go to Mohali, where the second T20 is scheduled for Wednesday.

After the toss was initially delayed due to a wet outfield, the game was abandoned at 7.50 p.m. local time, 50 minutes after the scheduled start of play.
