China Media Group -- the flagship broadcaster of China -- will air a one-episode documentary beginning at the prime viewing time of 19:30 on Saturday, charting two decades of economic and trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
This airing aims to set a positive atmosphere for the upcoming sixth ministerial conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries (Macao), which is scheduled to start on Sunday in the Macao Special Administrative Region.
The 50-minute documentary has been jointly produced by the China Central Television Finance Channel (CCTV-2) and the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries (Macao), also known as Forum Macao.
Established in 2003 in Macao, the forum has significantly boosted trade between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, which has grown from 11 billion U.S. dollars in 2003 to 220.9 billion U.S. dollars in 2023, with direct investments surging from 56 million U.S. dollars to 6.9 billion U.S. dollars.
Emphasizing the theme of "win-win cooperation", the documentary showcases extensive developmental achievements over the past 20 years. It presents mutual benefits and diverse growth in relations between China and Portuguese-speaking nations, paving the way for future prospects.
The documentary is set to vividly present major projects impacting national welfare and people's livelihoods, along with small-scale economic activities and emerging business opportunities.
It provides an in-depth look at the substantial progress in intergovernmental cooperation, economic investment, cultural exchanges, and social development between the partners.
The documentary will also be available on the CCTV Finance mobile app and Yangshipin platform.
