The Asia-Pacific region is a highland of peace and development in the world and countries outside the region should not make troubles for peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Li Jian at a press briefing in Beijing on Monday.

Lin made the remarks in response to German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock's saying related to the Taiwan question.

"Taiwan is an inseparable part of China’s territory. China's determination to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity is firm and unswerving. China always respects all countries' right to navigation in accordance with international law, but resolute opposes any country's provocation and threat to China's sovereignty and security in the name of navigation freedom," Lin said.

"The Asia-Pacific region is a highland of peace and development in the world. We hope countries outside the region do more things conducive to peace, stability and prosperity, jointly safeguard regional development, and refrain from stirring up troubles, making provocations, and making troubles for peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait," he said.
