Egg-sized hailstones blitzed Fuzhou City in east China's Jiangxi Province at around 18:00 on Sunday, leaving vehicles and buildings damaged to varying degrees.
The hailstorm left an aftermath in Fuzhou, with bicycles and e-mopeds whisked away from roadside, commercial boards toppled and tree trunks fallen across the road.
"The hailstorm was so ferocious that I ran full tilt to escape but still got caught," said a resident.
Some residential buildings had their rooftops blown away in the hailstorm. Owners of those buildings have began the repair work to restore the rooftops.
The city's meteorological department has advised residents to pay close attention to their weather forecasts for the coming days while taking precautions ensure their own safety and the security of their belongings.
