Foreign enterprises are welcomed to deepen cooperation with China and share the fruits of its economic development, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at a press briefing in Beijing on Monday.
Lin made the remarks after Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Tesla's founder and CEO Elon Musk at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing on Sunday, when the Chinese premier hailed the U.S. electric carmaker's development in China as a successful example of the win-win cooperation between China and the United States, and called Musk an old friend.
"I'd like to reiterate here that China is committed to high-quality development, firmly pursues the opening-up strategy of win-win cooperation, and will continue to build a market-oriented, law-based and international first-class business environment, actively promote foreign investment, attach great importance to the relevant demands of foreign enterprises, and earnestly protect the legitimate rights and interests of foreign enterprises," Lin said.
"We treat domestic and foreign enterprises equally. We welcome foreign enterprises to continue deepening cooperation with China and share the fruits of China's economic development. We also hope that foreign enterprises will abide by Chinese laws and regulations and fulfill their security commitments," he said.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the opening ceremony of the China-Russia Years of Culture and a special concert celebrating the 75th anniversary of China-Russia diplomatic ties on Thursday in Beijing.

He said that based on mutual respect, equality and mutual trust, the development of Russia-China relations has promoted the development of both countries, benefited the two peoples, and set a good example for international relations.
