China is concerned about the drone attack on a gas field in Iraq's Kurdistan region and mourns for its victims, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian at a press briefing in Beijing on Tuesday.

Lin made the statement in response to a press query about the incident that happened last Friday, in which four Yemeni nationals working at the field were killed and serious damage on the infrastructure was inflicted.

"China is concerned about the attack on the gas field in Iraq and mourns for the victims. China is willing to work together with Iraq to safeguard the safety of Chinese institutions, projects, and personnel in Iraq," said Lin.

The targeted Khor Mor gas field is located in Sulaimani Province and is operated by Dana Gas, a United Arab Emirates-based energy company.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but rocket or drone attacks by militias occur frequently in the Kurdistan region.

At the unveiling ceremony, the CMG Guangdong Station inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cooperation with the province's commerce and cultural and tourism departments, aiming to launch various activities with local characteristics that will promote consumption.

The station will also cooperate with the Guangzhou Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau to produce a documentary capturing images of Guangzhou, which will chronicle the city's vigorous efforts in driving the transformation of its old neighborhoods, and present the touching stories behind these changes.
