Beijing hosted a matchmaking event Thursday to deepen communication between enterprises while setting the stage for the upcoming Second China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE).
The event, which drew over 300 representatives from foreign embassies, international business associations, and both Chinese and foreign enterprises, sought to bolster the resilience and stability of global industry and supply chains.
"We will be guided by innovation, adhering to the principles of internationalization, professionalization, market orientation, and sustainability in organizing the event. The aim is to help Chinese and foreign enterprises gain more market share, investment, cooperation and growth opportunities, and build a more resilient and dynamic industrial and supply chain ecology, " said Ren Hongbin, chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, host of the expo.
Building on the success of last year's expo, which saw over 200 cooperation deals and tentative deals signed, the second CISCE is set to introduce a new "advanced manufacturing chain" exhibition section.
Seven new companies and organizations have signed up at the matchmaking event to participate in the second expo. Other companies shared their insights about the expo, as well as their plans to take part.
"We will continue to showcase our company's strategy of being rooted in China while aligned with global health. This year, we will focus on presenting three major chains: the innovation ecosystem chain, the smart manufacturing chain, and the new quality health chain," said Zhou Xiaping, President of Novo Nordisk Greater China.
"This is our first time participating in this expo. The Chinese market itself is a big market, now the Chinese market is very sophisticated. So we need to be really creative and smart in order to fulfill the needs of the Chinese market. We always are looking for opportunities," said Takeo Keizo, managing director of Sumitomo Electric Industries China.
More than 600 companies and organizations from over 60 countries have confirmed their participation at this year's expo so far, with over 60 percent of the international companies taking part being industry leaders.
Notably, international exhibitors will make up over 30 percent of participants, with more than 60 percent of these being Fortune 500 companies or industry leaders.
The expo's exhibition area is set to expand beyond last year's 100,000 square meters, reflecting growing international interest in China's supply chain initiatives.
The Second China International Supply Chain Expo is scheduled for Nov. 26, till Nov. 30.
