Russia hosts BRICS cultural exchange events

A series of BRICS cultural exchange events have been taking place in Russia, with forums, dialogues and cinema screenings showcasing the diverse cultures of BRICS member states and their strengthening cultural ties.

The events have been timed to coincide with the BRICS Seminar on Governance and Cultural Exchanges Forum 2024, which was held on Monday in Russia's capital Moscow, with more than 120 representatives from BRICS countries and international institutions like the New Development Bank gathering for discussions on BRICS countries’ paths to modernization.

These events included the annual "UPanda Cinema", a BRICS film and cultural exchange event, the BRICS Dialogue on Civilizations and the BRICS youth dialogue.

A mesmerizing pattern of concentric circles, mirroring Saturn's iconic rings, have appeared at the exposed lake bed of the Bandir Blue Lake in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The spectacular terraces, rising like giant stairwells from the lake's edges, were revealed by seasonal falls in water levels at the lake, also known as the Xiabandi reservoir.

Nestled beneath the snow-capped peaks of the Pamirs Plateau, the elevated and layered shoreline regularly draw visitors to marvel at the otherworldly scene whenever it appears.
