International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach on Friday presented a plaque to the China Media Group (CMG) production team who will work on next year's Winter Olympics during a visit to the international broadcast center of the 9th Asian Winter Games in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province on Friday.

Prior to attending the opening ceremony of the Asian Winter Games on Friday evening, Bach, alongside CMG President Shen Haixiong, officially accredited the team who will be responsible for producing the international signal for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

Bach praised CMG's world-leading sports broadcasting capabilities and its significant contribution to promoting the Olympic spirit.

He highlighted the successful collaborations between the IOC and CMG on broadcasts for the Tokyo 2020, Beijing 2022, and Paris 2024 Games, expressing confidence in CMG's preparedness for the next Winter Olympics.

Shen noted the Asian Winter Games in Harbin marks another major international winter sports event hosted by China following the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and expressed gratitude for the recognition given to the CMG's production and technical teams for 2026 Winter Olympics.

CMG is honored to be invited by Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) to undertake the production of the international public signal for figure skating and short track speed skating for the first time at the 2026 Winter Olympics, and will also be providing technical support to OBS, Shen said.

Representatives of CMG's production and technical teams introduced their preparations for the broadcasting mission.

Bach also presented Shen with a commemorative medal for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, stating that CMG's broadcasting achievements deserved a gold medal.
