The 10th China-UK Strategic Dialogue, held in London on Thursday after a hiatus of seven years, concluded with positive outcomes, with both sides agreeing to enhance cooperation in key areas.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, co-chaired the dialogue with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy.
The two sides reached consensus on a roadmap for future exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
Key outcomes from the dialogue include:
First, the UK's Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero will visit China and co-chair the China-UK Energy Dialogue.
Second, the UK's Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology will visit China and co-chair a meeting of the China-UK Joint Commission on Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation.
Third, the UK's Secretary of State for Education will visit China and co-chair a China-UK ministerial-level education consultation.
Fourth, both countries will accelerate preparations for the China-UK Joint Trade and Economic Commission meeting, along with dialogues on health and industrial cooperation.
Fifth, the two countries will forge new highlights of cooperation in areas such as financial services, clean energy, and artificial intelligence.
Sixth, both parties stay committed to deepening cooperation on global governance, development partnerships, climate change response, and cybersecurity.
