East China's Jiangsu Province has been implementing an action plan of using artificial intelligence technologies to empower its new industrialization, with machines and equipment upgraded by AI techs that benefit both enterprises and workers.

According to the Jiangsu Provincial Industry and Information Technology Department, this year, the province will further implement the action plan of AI powered new industrialization, make a retrofit and upgrade list for smart equipment, industrial software, and infrastructure transformation, and select a batch of "AI plus" equipment of exceptional quality.

In Nanjing City, capital of Jiangsu, innovation has been transforming the landscape of the construction sector, with AI-powered driverless excavators operating in mine and reducing workers' exposure to dust and noise.

"The advanced technologies nowadays are something I never expected before. Since I started operating excavators, I always worked on construction sites. Now, our work environment has improved. I'm happy at work and can drive more efficiently," said Chen Yuewen, an excavator operator.

BuilderX Robotics, an intelligent control system developer, has been helping improve the precision of remote control of heavy machinery with innovative "tele-operation plus AI" technology.

By gathering 3D information and training the computers, an excavators can identify items on the construction site all by itself, said Sui Shaolong, CEO of BuilderX Robotics.

"Originally when you sit inside the excavator, you know exactly how deep it is, the distance. But when you do tele-operations with a screen, it's pretty hard to tell [the situation on the ground]. So, what we do is, the lights are generated. The point cloud, which is like a 3D surroundings informations, together with the image, we can do the training and train the computers to know exactly, for example, where the bucket is," he said.

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has issued an order to restore access to international internet to the level before the January unrest, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on Monday.

The directive was handed over to the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology on Monday and approved by a special government cyberspace headquarters led by First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref.

According to the Iranian Students' News Agency, the order will take effect on Tuesday.

Iran restricted international internet access on Jan 8 when nationwide demonstrations over economic issues, including the sharp depreciation of the national currency the rial, escalated into clashes that caused casualties and damage to public property, including mosques and government buildings. Tehran has blamed the unrest on the United States and Israel.

After weeks of blackout, international internet access was returned to normal for a while, but the restrictions were reimposed on Feb 28 when the United States and Israel launched joint massive attacks on Iran.
