The "Zhejiang Tour for Youth from Hong Kong and Macao" was officially launched on Thursday, bringing together representatives from over a hundred sci-tech innovation project teams, aiming to strengthen cooperation with innovation sectors on the mainland.

During the visit, the teams will hold in-depth discussions with local technology-based enterprises to tackle key challenges faced by young entrepreneurs. They will also explore Zhejiang's leading companies, gaining firsthand insights into the swift advancements of strategic industries like artificial intelligence, biomedicine, new energy materials, and high-end manufacturing.

"This is the frontier of sci-tech entrepreneurship. There's a very complete upstream and downstream industrial chain here. We have discovered broad and exciting opportunities," said Qin Youming, a representative from the University of Hong Kong's innovation team.

"We hope to broaden our research team's horizons and better connect with the real needs of the industry," said Ma Zhenfang, a team member from the Macau University of Science and Technology.

The initiative also aims to promote deeper integration of scientific, technological and industrial innovation across Zhejiang, Hong Kong, and Macao.

"When young people from both sides have more opportunities to work together, greater sparks of creativity will fly," said Laura Lo, associate vice president of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

"By understanding Zhejiang's economic and social development, the participants will gain a deeper understanding of the country's progress," added Song Yonghua, president of the University of Macau.
