China has made notable strides in artificial intelligence (AI) development this year, with innovations spanning industries from manufacturing to healthcare, as the nation now boasts a fully integrated AI ecosystem, ranging from basic research to real-world applications, positioning it for sustained technological advancements.

In central China's Hubei province, Wuhan Huazhong Numerical Control Co. Ltd., a leader in computerized numerical control (CNC) systems, has recently launched its domestically developed new-generation intelligent numerical control system, the world's first CNC system integrating AI chips and large AI models.

This breakthrough improves industrial machine precision by 30 percent, surpassing existing micron-level accuracy, and boosts processing efficiency by 5 to 10 percent, helping China's industrial machinery move up the value chain.

AI’s impact extends beyond manufacturing into service sectors. In east China’s Zhejiang province, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine is constructing a panoramic intelligent hospital.

The facility has recently launched a patient warning and tracking system, which uses AI models to analyze over 30,000 medical reports daily and identify high-risk patients, having already flagged more than 18,000 cases.

AI is also rapidly expanding beyond manufacturing into service sectors. At a hospital in Zhejiang, a panoramic intelligent hospital is under construction, featuring a newly launched patient warning and tracking system. This system uses AI large models to analyze over 30,000 medical reports daily, automatically identifying high-risk patients, with more than 18,000 cases already accurately flagged.

"We have consistently focused on ensuring independent, controllable computing power, industry-specific models, and secure, reliable data. From leveraging scientific data mining to optimizing hospital management, we've developed a comprehensive smart healthcare ecosystem that integrates medical, service, management, and research domains," said Wang Jian'an, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, who also leads the hospital.

As of April 9, China's AI patent applications totaled 1,576,379, accounting for 38.58 percent of global applications, the highest share worldwide.

The country has also nurtured more than 400 national-level "specialized and innovative" AI companies, representing one-tenth of the global AI industry size, further cementing its complete AI ecosystem.

In line with these advancements, China has launched a national AI fund worth 60 billion yuan (over 8.2 billion U.S. dollars), which is aimed at accelerating AI innovation, industrial development, and practical applications.

The government has also strengthened its AI regulatory framework, establishing over 40 key industry standards and more than 10 international standards, optimizing the ecosystem for sustainable growth.

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is ready to completely withdraw from the governmental scene in the Gaza Strip and engage in a positive and constructive manner with the second phase of the plan to end the war in the enclave, said Hamas political bureau member Basem Naim on Friday. In a statement, Naim said that the ceasefire deal became an international plan after being adopted by the United Nations Security Council. However, it is now facing obstacles.

He accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of reneging on his commitments and escalating the situation, in an attempt to return to war and save his political career. Pointing out that Israeli strikes have caused hundreds of casualties since the announcement of the ceasefire, the Hamas official said the escalation cannot occur without cover or green light from the United States. He said Hamas has committed to all its obligations under the ceasefire agreement, as attested by the mediators and the U.S., adding that it is ready for the second phase of the agreement.

He emphasized the Movement's commitment to the establishment of a fully empowered Palestinian body to administer Gaza, and its complete withdrawal from the governmental scene.

Naim warned that the situation will not be sustainable if the continued escalation of Israeli military operations and the persistence of the catastrophic humanitarian situation remain unaddressed, adding that the circle of fire may expand, which is what Netanyahu aspires to.

Since a ceasefire took effect on Oct 10, 2025, Gaza's death toll has risen to 439 with 1,223 injuries, according to local health authorities on Friday. Rescue teams have recovered 688 bodies during that period. In the broader conflict, at least 71,409 Palestinians have been killed and 171,304 wounded since Israel's military campaign in Gaza began in October 2023.
