The excellent traditional Chinese culture illustrated in the animated blockbuster "3,000 Miles from Chang'an" has touched a chord with the audience in Taiwan, following its public screening in the region.

The movie showcasing the heyday of ancient China's Tang Dynasty (618-907) was premiered in Taiwan on April 28 and released for public screening two days later. It was dubbed in Minnan dialect, a widely spoken Chinese dialect in Taiwan. Minnan literally means "southern Fujian Province", and Fujian sits opposite the Taiwan island across the Taiwan Strait.

Over the 10 days since its screening, the movie has garnered a wave of positive reviews from the Taiwan audience.

"It's really fantastic and quite excellent, and it came through animation, which is a very important [medium], because children are able to absorb more through animation," said a moviegoer.

For many Taiwan audiences, the most captivating aspect of this movie is the traditional Chinese culture it conveys.

"[The movie titles] '3,000 Miles from Chang'an', but the 3,000 miles refers to not just a journey of distance. It captures the 5,000-year cultural journey of us, the descendants of Yan and Huang in the Chinese nation. It reflects the deep love and appreciation of poetry that are embedded in our genes," said another moviegoer.

The movie is now being screened in nearly 40 cinemas across Taiwan. The distributor in Taiwan said that the movie's success in the region has exceeded their expectations.

"After seeing the trailer, I thought that this was a movie we absolutely must bring in, because this animated film vividly brings to life the poets that we've heard about and read about in books since childhood. In just 10 days, there already have been people watching it twice or even three times, which for us is truly an unexpected great success," said Kung Po Yun, executive director of the Spring Entertainment Co., Ltd.

The movie has been warmly received in Taiwan, proving that culture continues to bind the people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait together. Relevant companies in Taiwan have also said that they will make more efforts to introduce more outstanding films produced in the mainland, to further strengthen cross-Strait exchanges.

Venezuela's acting president Delcy Rodriguez said on Sunday that the country is at a critical stage and must achieve national unity, emphasizing that maintaining internal cohesion is of utmost importance.

In a televised address, Rodriguez called on the public to continue trusting the government under the current highly complex political circumstances.

Her statement comes in the wake of a January 3 military operation conducted by the United States, during which Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife were taken into custody and flown out of the country.

The operation resulted in at least 100 fatalities.

Rodriguez, who was sworn in as acting president two days later on January 5, framed her appeal for unity against this backdrop of external intervention.

Meanwhile, Venezuelan Minister of Communication and Information Freddy Nanez denounced the U.S. actions as a "war crime of the 21st century" when speaking at an international cultural event on Sunday.

Nanez condemned not only the January 3 airstrikes but also the associated cyber and electromagnetic attacks.

He accused the United States of violating international law through the forced removal of President Maduro and his wife, while attacks on civilian infrastructure, including medical facilities, represent a flagrant breach of humanitarian norms.

He reiterated that the stigmatization and military attacks against Venezuela are driven by economic interests, particularly the desire to control its abundant natural resources.
