The 35th edition of the Dalian Marathon took place Sunday morning in the Chinese coastal city's Donggang District, with 33,000 runners from 55 countries and regions competing in the races.
The participating runners included 430 from overseas, some 13,000 local runners from Dalian, and more than 19,000 others from across China.
Capped at 33,000 people, this year's event saw more than 100,000 registered participants, the most ever for this race.
The event featured three race categories - full marathon, half marathon and fun run.
In the men's full marathon, Ethiopia's Abe-baw Dessle Muniye won the title with a time of two hours 10 minutes 33 seconds. Fellow Ethiopian Kemal Husen Gebi and Kenya's Solomon Timo Suter came the second and the third.
On the women's side, Kenyan Akeno Martha dominated with a time of two hours, 29 minutes 20 seconds. Another two Ethiopians, Seada Kedir Adilo and Baraki Gebriala Yowhans, finished the second and the third.
Meanwhile Wu Xiangdong and Shen Ni claimed the men's and women's title as the best Chinese runners.
