China plans to invite foreign leaders, diplomats, and international friends to join a grand gathering marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War scheduled on September 3, said Hu Heping, executive vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, on Tuesday.

The State Council Information Office (SCIO) Tuesday held a press briefing to announce plans for marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

"The victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression marked a historical turning point of the Chinese nation from a period of profound national crisis since modern times to the path of great rejuvenation. It is also a crucial part of the global victory in the World Anti-Fascist War. The Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression received wide support from the international community, and we Chinese people will always remember the contributions made by people around the world to China's victory," said Hu.

"According to the overall arrangements for this commemoration, we will invite leaders, formal political figures, and senior officials from related countries, principals of related international organizations, heads of diplomatic missions and military attaches in China, representatives of international organizations to China, and international friends that contributed to China's victory against Japanese aggression or their surviving family members to attend our commemoration activities," he said.

The commemorative event, which will take place at the Tian'anmen Square in Beijing, features a grand military parade on the morning of September 3, and a series of following up activities will be held across the country.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil issued a statement on Saturday, saying that the security alert released by the U.S. Department of State regarding Venezuela is based on false claims that do not exist and is intended to create a perception of risk that is not real.

According to the statement posted on Gil's official X account, Venezuela is currently in a state of absolute calm, peace and stability.

All residential areas, transportation routes, checkpoints and security facilities in the country are functioning normally, and all armed forces nationwide are under the government's control.

The statement came after the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs on Saturday warned that as international flights have resumed, U.S. citizens in Venezuela "should leave the country immediately."
