Ningbo City in east China's Zhejiang Province took precautions to prepare for the approaching Typhoon Danas, the fourth Typhoon of the year, calling back fishing boats and carrying out security inspections at ports.
On Monday morning, in Qifeng Village of Ningbo, local officials shuffled across local docks, warning citizens not to fish along the shore, and fishermen to stop working and evacuate.
The officials also teamed up to inspect different docks, checking whether fishing vessels were secured, mooring ropes were fastened, and anchor chains were firm, dedicated to protecting lives and property.
"We need to patrol the entire Qifeng Village to make sure all the ships' ropes are firmly tied, relocate any vessels that need to be moved to safe anchorage, and recall fishing boats that are still out at sea," said Shen Peixun, an official of the village.
By Monday, all 737 fishing boats in the village had been called back to ports to take shelter. Meanwhile, local authorities have been patrolling along the shorelines to ensure safety before the Typhoon arrives.
