The Taiwan region Han Kuang-41 military exercise scheduled for Wednesday is nothing but a bluffing show, said National Defense Ministry spokesman Jiang Bin at a press conference in Beijing on Tuesday.

He said the exercise, claimed to feature the debut of many U.S. weapons, is a move taken by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities to hijack compatriots in the region on-board their separatist war chariot. "The Han Kuang exercise is nothing but a bluffing and self-deceiving trick played by the DPP authorities in an attempt to hijack compatriots in Taiwan on-board their separatist war chariot. The DPP authorities are harming and destroying Taiwan for a party's selfish interests. We solemnly warn the DPP authorities that seeking secession by force is a dead end. No matter how they put up the drills and whatever weapons they use, they cannot resist the People's Liberation Army's sharp sword countering the secessionist forces, and they cannot hurdle the overwhelming historic trend of the inevitable national reunification of the motherland," Jiang said.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil issued a statement on Saturday, saying that the security alert released by the U.S. Department of State regarding Venezuela is based on false claims that do not exist and is intended to create a perception of risk that is not real.

According to the statement posted on Gil's official X account, Venezuela is currently in a state of absolute calm, peace and stability.

All residential areas, transportation routes, checkpoints and security facilities in the country are functioning normally, and all armed forces nationwide are under the government's control.

The statement came after the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs on Saturday warned that as international flights have resumed, U.S. citizens in Venezuela "should leave the country immediately."
