Hundreds of newly-enrolled pilot cadets of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force for 2025 boarded the Y-20 transport aircraft on Friday and Saturday and flew straight from their home regions to the Aviation University of the PLA Air Force in Changchun, capital of northeast China's Jilin Province, for enrollment.
This is the fourth consecutive year that the PLA Air Force has dispatched the Y-20 aircraft to transport the newly-enrolled pilot cadets to the university and welcome the aspiring young people to join the air force.
This time, the big jets took off from six boarding points, namely Shenyang, Shijiazhuang, Jinan, Nanjing, Changsha and Chengdu, picking up the cadets who have received their acceptance letters.
After several hours in the air, five Y-20 jets from Changsha, Jinan and Shenyang touched down in Changchun.
Officials say that in 2025, the passion of qualified young people nationwide to apply for Air Force recruitment remains strong, with nearly 100,000 high-school graduates applied this year.
