China's renowned "Hometown of Bamboo" -- Anji County of east China's Zhejiang Province -- is unleashing bamboo's potential in promoting a green lifestyle.

Bamboo grows at an incredible speed -- reaching full height in just 60 days. But its true power lies beyond the forest.

From replacing plastic with eco-friendly tableware to cutting carbon emissions, bamboo is redefining what it means to live green in Anji, said Erik Solheim, chairman of the Europe-Asia Center and former U.N. Under-Secretary-General, as he immersed himself in the bamboo-powered lifestyle of the county.

The journey is featured in the China Global Television Network (CGTN) documentary "China Quest: A Journey Through Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains", which premiered on August 3.

The documentary follows Solheim as he travels across China to see how the country's green solutions are helping change the world.
