China's electronic industry has experienced rapid growth in recent years, along with a notable increase in the resilience of its supply chain, according to a report released by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing on Thursday.
The development report of China's electronic industry supply chain was released at the Third Electronic Industry Supply Chain Ecosystem Conference, which is held from Wednesday to Friday in Shenzhen City.
According to the report, China's electronic industry continues to thrive, fueled by rapid market growth and national stimulus policies.
In 2024, the market size of the electronic information manufacturing sector was around 21.59 trillion yuan (about 3.01 trillion U.S. dollars), with a year-on-year growth of 6.1 percent.
The swift advancement of information technology and digitalization is driving strong demand for consumer electronics and automotive electronics.
Additionally, as artificial intelligence applications rolled out more quickly, the adoption of AI smartphones and AI computers increased significantly, providing new growth momentum for the sector.
In 2024, there were around 42,000 companies in China's electronic information manufacturing sector, representing a growth of about 9 percent from the previous year. Most of these businesses are located in the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions, which together make up more than 60 percent of the total.
In the first half of this year, China's electronic industry maintained steady growth. The revenue from the electronic information manufacturing sector above the designated size reached 8.04 trillion yuan (about 1.12 trillion U.S. dollars), marking a year-on-year increase of 9.4 percent.
"In the journey of driving high-quality national economic development through innovation, the electronic industry is becoming increasingly vital. To enhance its efficiency and resilience, the industry should foster better collaboration between upstream and downstream partners, ultimately supporting the high-quality development of our nation," said Hu Dajian, vice president of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing.
