Finals of bowling mass participation event of 15th NG to be held from August 22 to 24

The finals of the bowling mass participation event, the first event of the 15th National Games (NG) in Hong Kong, will be held from August 22 to 24 at the Kai Tak Sports Park Bowling Centre. The competitions will comprise men's and women's singles, doubles and teams of five events, with over 160 athletes from 27 teams joining from the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao competing for honours. Hong Kong will field five men and five women athletes. The competition schedule is as follows:

  • Men's and women's singles: August 22, 9am to 9.45pm

  • Men's and women's doubles: August 23, 9.40am to 6.20pm

  • Men's and women's teams of five and prize presentation ceremony: August 24, 9.45am to 5pm

All ticket exchange certificates obtained from online applications have been distributed. Each holder with a valid ticket exchange certificate can redeem his/her admission ticket next to the spectator entrance at the Bowling Centre, located at the footbridge entrance on Level 3 of Kai Tak Mall 2. All ticket holders must undergo security checks before admission. Regarding the 15th NG competition events, the first batch of tickets will go on public sale from August 28, covering four events organised by Hong Kong, namely beach volleyball, handball (men), basketball (men's U22) and rugby sevens. Hong Kong residents can use their Hong Kong identity card or Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents to log in to the 15th NG official ticketing website (ticket.baygames.cn), and the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities (NGD) and the 9th National Special Olympic Games (NSOG) official ticketing website (ticket.baygamespara.cn), or the official mini programmes on WeChat for real-name registration. After real-name registration on the above-mentioned platforms, members of the public may purchase tickets under real-name arrangement once released. Additionally, 11 designated sales outlets of the China Travel Service (Hong Kong) Limited will also sell tickets for Hong Kong events from August 28. Real-name purchase is required at these outlets, but prior registration is not necessary.

Companies Registry releases statistics for 2025

According to the statistics released by the Companies Registry today (January 16), a total of 195,343 local companies and re-domiciled companies were newly registered in 2025. By the end of 2025, the total number of local companies and re-domiciled companies registered under the Companies Ordinance increased by 96,609 compared to 2024, reaching 1,557,103, which was an all-time high figure.

In 2025, the number of charges on properties of companies received for registration was 12,912, which was 6.4 per cent up from 12,137 in 2024. The number of notifications of payments and releases received for registration increased by 14.2 per cent, from 18,201 in 2024 to 20,789 in 2025.

In 2025, a total of 180 prospectuses were registered while the figure recorded in 2024 was 157.

In 2025, the total number of documents delivered for registration increased by 7 per cent to 3,360,723, compared to 3,139,906 in 2024.

Turning to the licensing of money lenders, 155 new licences were granted by the Licensing Court in 2025. By the end of 2025, the total number of licensed money lenders was 2,015.
