Russian said on Friday that its forces had taken control of six more settlements in the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, while Ukraine, on the same day, reported Russian troop buildup in Pokrovsk direction.
The Russian defense ministry said that its forces seized the six settlements between Aug 23 and 29.
The Russian troops conducted seven group strikes with high-precision weapons and attack drones against targets including Ukrainian military-industrial facilities, air bases, tactical missile storage depots, and fuel depots over the past week, the ministry said
Also on Friday, General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Ukrainian forces launched a strike against a diesel fuel distribution station in Russia's Bryansk region which supplies Russian troops.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on the same day that the frontline situation remained largely under control, but raised concerns over the challenging situation in Pokrovsk direction, where an estimated 100,000 Russian troops were amassing and preparing for an offensive.
