The decoration work in the core area of Beijing's Tian'anmen Square for the grand commemorations to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War has been basically completed, as a result of concerted efforts by all parties concerned.
The decoration layout at the Tian'anmen Square is designed with the Beijing Central Axis as the main thoroughfare, featuring a symmetrical arrangement on both sides.
The viewing platform and floral arrangement feature red, yellow and green as the primary colors. The temporary structures are in harmony with the surrounding architecture and environment, well arranged to highlight the solemnity and grandeur of the ceremony.
Prominently featured at the square are two commemorative platforms with a year sign of 1945 and 2025, resembling two majestic gates slowly opening to herald the momentous occasion. The patterns of the Great Wall, a global cultural symbol, serves as the foundation for these platforms.
"Regarding the overall decoration layout of the square this time, we've placed the commemorative platforms with a year sign on both sides of the Monument to the People's Heroes, prominently displaying '1945-2025.' This arrangement beautifully illustrates the theme of unity for the commemorative event," said Tian Zhongli, director in charge of planning and design of the command center for service guarantee and square commemorative activities.
The main structure of the commemorative platforms adopts the Great Wall pattern, echoing the similar patterns in the surrounding greenery. Seven peace doves on each side symbolize the Chinese nation's 14 years of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-1945).
"The decoration with patterns of 14 flying doves of peace is also the theme of this year's era name platform design, representing the pursuit and guarantee of peace by hundreds of millions of Chinese people and peace-loving people around the world," Tian said.
As part of the commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, China will stage a massive military parade on Wednesday in the Tian'anmen Square.
